As if we need any more convincing. These “news”papers are only fit to be rather uncomfortable toilet paper. They and this criminal government need to be put on trial for what they’re doing. They’re nothing more than lying, thieving bastards. Wait, where have I heard that phrase before…?

Pride's Purge

(it’s not satire – it’s the Daily Mail!)

Yesterday, the Daily Mail published yet another of its endless dubious stories about how working class people are all lazy scroungers on benefits who drink too much alcohol, scrounge off the state, are bad parents blah blah bloody blah.

You can read the article here, if you really must (warning – link to Daily Mail nonsense):

Is this Britain’s most irresponsible parent?

Well, the woman in the story is actually an actress.

Here’s her casting page:

Carolyn (shannon) Burrows

Can’t blame the woman. She does a very good job playing the part of a working-class parent – well one according to the Daily Mail anyway.

I hope they paid her well for her role.

This comes after both the Mail and the Sun printed the following similar dubious story which also used an actress (or the wife of a Russian billionaire?):

Ah, it’s just so bloody easy to hit out at those too weak – either physically, mentally or financially – to fight back, isn’t it? It’s bad enough that this government thinks it’s a “good thing to do” but where is the conscience, the common bloody sense, of the average working man and woman? Can’t they think for themselves instead of being led around by the trashiest tabloids this country can muster? When able-bodied people see someone disabled, WHY aren’t they thinking “there but for the grace of God…” instead of “lying, thieving bastards”? But this is the disease of capitalism at its best – or should I say worst? Money is power, money is God, money is the be-all, end-all and what the poor people do is merely to provide a target for a bit of sport. Who cares about the most vulnerable in society these days? Well, it’s certainly not the government or their media puppets.

Watching that Panorama Programme on BBC1 on Monday evening, 28th January, “The Disability Scam” and hearing those words, “Lying Thieving Bastards” from an ex employee from Triage, a work programme contractor provider, left a vile sick feeling in my stomach, and I am so damned incensed, so I thought I would write this in response to that vile statement.

I feel angry; actually, livid is a better term to use.  The words Scroungers, Fraudsters and now Lying Thieving Bastards, aimed at claimants, particularly those on disability benefits, have been bounded about a lot since the Condems came to power in May 2010.

Disability Hate Crime has rocketed since records began due to the Government propaganda and large swathes of the media.  In January 2013, in the town of Blackpool alone, disability hate crime has rocketed 40%.  We live in fear every single day.  I then started thinking about the term…

I strongly believe that the Conservative party should be outlawed and this wonderful article by Graeme Beard (above) explains in a very easy-to-understand rhetoric, just why I believe this.

Since the radical change in the class system at the end of World War Two, the Tories have had to fight hard to maintain their affluent lifestyles. Why? Because the “lower classes” suddenly had power, the power of their hard-working selves. Tories hate this and there will never be full employment while they’re allowed to govern. The Tories always have and always will only look out for the wealthy at the expense of the working classes.

Not news, really. This is what capitalism is all about. The rich can only ever be super-rich by grinding the poor into the dirt, that’s all they’re there for, really.

This is a criminal, evil government out to return the class system to the UK and themselves to the glory-days of Conservatism where the rich were rich and the poor and working-classes “knew their place”. Every since the second world war, they’ve done their damnedest to bring about the ruin of our crowning glory – the National Health Service which, for the first time, allowed everyone, irrespective of income, to have that most basic thing in any civilised society – the right to see a doctor without having to go without food, heating or rent. They have done their utmost to crush the welfare system in its entirety and return the “common man” to where they believe we should be – in the gutter, wringing our collective caps and grovelling for whatever morsel they deign to toss to us.

Do we really need or want that? Conservatism – capitalism – is as outdated as the leech (if you don’t believe in a class system), because they can only flourish by keeping the masses so far below them, constantly struggling simply to survive.

Therefore, I say the Conservative party should be outlawed and never allowed to govern again. They are obsolete. Dinosaurs. Let’s relegate them and their capitalist ideals where they belong – TO HISTORY.

Vox Political

austeritydolequeueToday Vox Political is offering a guest blog, for your edification and education. Graeme Beardwrote the following in response to ‘Millionaire’s government will make paupers of us all’. It’s far too long for me to put in the ‘Comment’ section of that article but far too interesting to let it go unpublished. Therefore I am reproducing it as an article in its own right. If anyone else has anything they want to get off their chests, I’ll happily consider other submissions as well.

Over to Graeme:

OK – well let’s get something rather nasty out of the way first. Austerity for the masses is an extremely efficient and effective macro-economic device. Absolutely counter-productive and even destructive to a consumer based economy it is the best way by far, (apart from slavery) on a macro-economic level to shift money from the pockets of the poor to the pockets of the…

This evil, criminal coalition government is literally getting away with murder.  Just because there are people who abuse the system (and I’m not for one moment denying that), they punish everyone.   Yes, punish the cheats and the scroungers but only the cheats and the scroungers!  Not the section of society who needs you most – those who cannot work for either genuine health reasons or because there are simply no jobs where they live.  Especially those in ill health, the most vulnerable members of our society, how dare this government hound them – often to their death as this reblog shows.

Let’s face it, what they’re doing is to steal money most of us have paid in National Insurance contributions (note the name of the tax) to insure us against things like illness and unemployment and use it for their own ends.

Let’s hope that all the comfortably off people in jobs now who join in the mass vilifying of all those on benefits, genuine or not, never need those aforementioned benefits for themselves…

Benefits are not charity.  They’ve been paid for by the people of this country for a health service and a welfare service to cushion them if the worst happens.  By all means, get the scroungers and fraudsters and hang them out to dry but by what right does any government persecute the ill and the disabled just because they need money for the coffers?  If you want more money, tax those super-rich corporations who owe you billions of pounds of revenue!

But no… it’s easier to pick on the most vulnerable, those who can’t fight back, isn’t it?

Politics and Insights

A Department for Work and Pensions Freedom Of Informationrequest (FOI) yielded a response showing that people having their claim for Employment Support Allowance (ESA) stopped, between October 2010 and November 2011, with a recorded date of death within six weeks of that claim ceasing, who were until recently claiming Incapacity Benefit (IB), totalled 310. Between January and November 2011, those having their ESA claim ended, with a recorded date of death within six weeks of that claim ending totalled 10,600.

Bearing in mind that those who were successfully migrated to ESA from IB were assessed and deemed unfit for work, (under a different assessment process, originally) one would expect that the death rates would be similar to those who have only ever claimed ESA. This is very clearly not the case.

Furthermore, there are NO alarming increases in mortality rates amongst those who are still in receipt of Incapacity Benefit…

Crappy New Year

What’s the deal with New Year’s resolutions?  Oh, it might have started out as a good idea, setting oneself goals to aim for during the following twelve months, laudable aims to put before us, noble achievements to strive for in the hope that somehow it will magically make us better people.

What a load of old bollocks!

There’s one thing not factored into this idiotic fashion of self-delusion, and that’s people.  Yep, human beings, homo sapiens, common or garden, fallible do-gooders.  You and me.

That’s the problem with all these fine dreams and dazzling visions for a new you, a better you, a high-achieving you, a fitter, more gorgeous you, a you people can’t help admiring and lusting after – and that problem is that we’re all setting ourselves up to fail, simply by even contemplating such lofty ambitions.

Why?  Because, basically, human beings are perverse creatures.  There’s a little demon inside of us all, snuggling down comfortably in a nest made out of the shredded remains of all those previous start-of-the-year visions of our glorious future.  A smug, self-satisfied little Demon of Perversity, growing fat on our self-delusions, for he knows full well that – despite these first-of January fantasies we ritually indulge in – it’s just the wine talking.  He knows we’re born to fail merely by uttering the words: “THIS year, I’m gonna do it. I’m gonna lose the excess weight, I’ll be a regular at the gym, I’ll make (insert life-form of desire here) drool over the very thought of me, I’ll get that promotion, I’ll save enough for that holiday/car/new house/plastic surgery.  I’ll do it ALL!

Nails in the coffin of failure, people.  And the Demon of Perversity knows it and is comforted and thanks us all from the bottom of his scheming little heart.

You see, he knows us better than we do.  He knows that whatever we say we want to achieve, we’ll end up doing the exact opposite and will find a sack-load of excuses and self-pitying platitudes along the way.  Every time you wish someone a happy New Year, you’re condemning them to just the opposite, because you’re now under the New Year Curse of the Demon of Perversity who decrees that, whatever you say in those dying moments of the old year and the unknown misty days of the new, will never, ever come to pass.  It’s an unwritten law.

Bearing that in mind, here are my “honest” resolutions for 2013, just to thumb my nose at my own personal Demon of Perversity who will make sure I get the opposite of what I promise myself.  Sod the little bastard, he deserves having a hard time of it for a change.

  • This year I will not diet and I will be a lazy-arsed, good-for-nothing sloth.
  • This year I will be content with my lot.
  • This year I couldn’t care less if people hang onto my every word, gasping in admiration of my brilliance, physical beauty and general awesomeness.
  • This year I will let myself go.
  • This year I will watch more TV/DVDs/play games/waste time on social  networks and do nothing constructive at all.
  • This year I will fail at everything I attempt – in fact, I’m not even going to make an attempt to achieve more than that of your average couch-potato on a particularly can’t-be-arsed day.

Going by the averages, 2013 should turn out to be a brilliant year for me if I stick to the above.  After all, the Demon of Perversity will have it no other way than to make me succeed in all I will not attempt to do.

And on that note, I shall wish you all a thoroughly Crappy New Year and may you fall down a flight of stairs and break your sorry necks.

Suck it up, bitches and prepare for success!
